Jackie Mendez is a vocalist & musician based in Los Angeles, California.  She grew up listening to a wide range of music, but it wasn’t until her introduction to Ska and Punk, mainly the British 2Tone ska revival music of the late 1970’s where Jackie took the next step and started playing in bands. She developed a keen interest in 1960's era Jamaican Ska and Reggae influenced by singers from the likes of Alton Ellis and Ken Boothe.

When Angel City Records approached Jackie, the focus was to showcase her as a solo artist while supplying her with backing by the label's reggae/ska house recording band "thee Hurricanes" which features an all-star line-up of some of California’s finest musicians.  Her 1st release "Introducing Jackie Mendez" EP has been making wave worldwide as she continues to perform in the west coast of California and Mexico. Jackie has been touring independently and with top international acts, Mon Laferte and Natalia Lafourcade. Jackie Has just released a new single "Forever True" with a full length album in the works to be released Summer 2018.
